In 2004, Tongji University took the lead in having IMBA(International MBA) program with Tongji characteristics. This program has recruited students all over the world and attracted students with global visions. Thus a system of cooperation and exchange with the first-class overseas business schools has been built. Forbes issued the most valuable business school
in China in April, 2005, in which Tongji MBA program ranked ninth in the most valuable part-time MBA programme, sixth in the highest salary of graduated part-time MBA students.

Objective

International Cooperation
Heralding the internationalization of MBA education in China's higher educational institutions, Tongji University sets up a platform for international cooperation of the MBA Programme. The School of Economics & Management at Tongji University has strategic alliance with international partners of seven first class business schools in Britain, France, Canada and Spain etc.

Project Management
Project management module, engineering project management in particular, as one of the key features of Tongji University, enjoys an international reputation. In the past years, Tongji University has completed a variety of key national projects of science and research in many engineering fields such as project management, comprehensive management, general project control, computer accessory project management and construction management, and has undertaken various management projects for construction in metro, airport, large-scale hydraulic facility, modern office building factory premises and tourist accommodations, accumulating rich practical experience in theoretic research and education. Project Management Module will absorb latest theories and ideas in project management both home and abroad, emphasize feasibility of management methodology in concrete project, and combine computer network technology with project management maintaining the advancement, practicability and transcendence of the field and educating senior talents adaptable to project management in a new situation.

Logistics Managment
Tongji University is one of the universities in China that has initiated systematic theoretic research and practice in logistics. In theoretic study of logistics, we boast a highly qualified academic research team with original perspectives and insights , thus consecutively obtaining projects of State Natural Science Foundation. Tongji University has provided successful logistics consultancy and undertaken logistic information system development project for logistics center of many cities and renowned large and medium domestic enterprises, the achievements of which have secured Tongj University a leading position in logistics management. The ever-rising “Logistics Passion” calls for successful logistics management experience, and senior talents in logistics management as well. In consideration of characteristics of MBA students, we've invited distinguished logistics experts to deliver lectures on the latest achievement and development in modern logistics. In addition, expert team will be organized to conduct case study for students and find out solutions to practical logistics problems put forward by the students in their respective sectors.

Investment Management
As a university with strength in infrastructure construction, engineering and science, Tongji University boasts its distinctive advantage in investment management. The School of Economics＆Management currently has two doctoral programmes in management sciences＆engineering, technology economics＆management and master programs in finance, industry economics and accounting etc, providing foundation and platform for the module.

Business Administration
Speciality of business administration at Tongji University has gathered a group of outstanding specialists in production and operations management, marketing, quality management logistics management and human resources management. They are in possession of good academic background and experience in international exchange, whose research achievements rank leading positions in China. Relying on consolidated engineering basis of Tongji University, business administration module integrates practice with research, launching initiative exploration into the field of automobile, machinery, electronics and architecture. IMBA
In the year of 2004, Tongji IMBA programme was initiated to nurture business elites who have a good understanding of different cultures, a global view and internationalized management abilities.
The matriculated students in IMBA programme consist of those with proficiency in English chosen from qualified students in the National MBA Entrance Exam, and those coming from foreign countries and exchange students from partner institutes. During their study, Chinese students are offered the opportunity to study in famous business schools abroad as an international exchange student and to learn different social culture and business civilization there. The courses offered are all in English. The professors engaged are those experienced both at home and abroad in his academic field or senior leaders in multinational companies. And the program commits itself to creating an international atmosphere, in which both foreign and native students can learn from each other and improve themselves through the unique multicultural interaction.
